Get your Pixel phone repaired

If you have a Pixel phone, support options are available if it has in-warranty or out-of-warranty damage. The availability of mail-in and walk-in options depends on your phone's warranty status and your location. Follow the instructions below to learn more.

See your repair options

  • To check your warranty status, you'll need your device's IMEI number.
  • To avoid losing data, remember to back up, then factory reset your device and remove the SIM card before you get a repair.
    • If you choose the mail-in option, the repair process takes 7–10 business days once you ship your device.
    • If you choose the walk-in option, repairs can often be completed same-day. We recommend checking with your closest repair location for exact time.
  1. Start the processat the Google Store in a supported country.
  2. SelectGet started.
  3. Enter your device's IMEI number.
    • If you've started a return or replacement already but would like to have your device repaired instead, contact us.
  4. On the next screen, confirm that the IMEI entered matches the device you want repaired.
  5. Select the issues that apply to your phone.

You'll see which issues are covered for your device and the available repair options.

There are 2 main repair options: mailing your phone for repair, or visiting an authorized repair partner. For more info on repair options, see our list of authorized service providers.

Option 1: Bring your phone for repair (walk-in)

Step 1: Find the nearest authorized service provider

Step 2: Back up data

Before you bring your device for repairs, back up data, remove the SIM card, and factory reset your phone. The factory reset deletes all data saved on your phone. If you can't turn on your device to reset it or your device isn't factory reset when you bring it to a repair partner, they'll reset it for you. Remember to keep your SIM card.

Step 3: Bring in your phone

Make arrangements to visit your nearest repair partner with your phone.

During your visit, the partner will check the warranty status of your phone, inspect the device to confirm the damage reported, and give you the cost of the repair. Most repairs can be completed same-day.

  • For in-warranty devices or damage types, there is no charge for the repairs.
  • For out-of-warranty devices or damage types, prices may vary.

If damage is found during inspection that increases the repair cost, the partner will reach out to you to approve the new cost before continuing. Partial repairs aren't available.

Step 4: Pick up your phone

Once your repair is completed, you'll be notified that your phone is ready for pickup.

Option 2: Send your phone for repair (mail-in)

Step 1: Choose shipping options & create repair order

If you've chosen to mail your phone, decide how you'd like to send it:

  • Send it to us with your own packaging - With this option, you can ship your device as soon as you get the email with instructions. Print out the attached shipping label, RMA slip, and battery safety label (in the US) to ship the device.
    • If you choose this option, you're responsible for any damage that might occur to your device in shipment. We recommend packing your device securely before mailing.
  • Send it to us with our prepaid packaging - Prepaid packaging takes 1-2 business days to arrive once you place your repair order. The packaging contains padding to keep the device secure. Print out the RMA slip and shipping label you received in the instruction email to ship the device.

For either shipping option above, agree to the repair terms, check the details for your repair and the estimated repair cost, then tap or clickConfirm purchase.

  • For in-warranty devices or damage types, there is no charge for the repairs.
  • For out-of-warranty devices or damage types, you'll find the estimated repair cost on the last page before you confirm the purchase and create the repair order.
  • To make changes, tap or clickNeed to make changes?
  • Check that the address information is accurate. You won't be able to edit the address once you finish the order.

Step 2: Back up data

Before you send or bring your device for repairs, back up your phone, remove the SIM card, then  factory reset your phone. This deletes all data saved on your phone. If you can't turn on your device to reset it or your device isn't factory reset when we get it, we'll reset it for you. Remember to keep the SIM card with you before you ship your phone.

Step 3: Pack and ship your phone

Securely pack and send your phone for repair.

After a repair center receives your phone

See below to understand what happens after you've sent your device for repair.

Inspection & approval

After your device is received, it's thoroughly inspected for all possible problem types.

  • If the device we receive is different from the one in the order, we'll let you know we can't process your repair and we'll return the phone to you.
  • If the inspection confirms the repair is covered under warranty, the repair will begin and you won't be charged.
  • If the repair costs less than or matches the estimate, you'll be charged as soon as the inspection is complete, and the repair begins.
  • If we find other damage that wasn't in the original order and the repair cost increases, we'll ask you to approve the new cost before moving forward with the repair.
    • Note that while we estimate 7-10 business days to finish the whole repair order, this doesn't include time taken to approve the updated cost.
    • All damages in the repair order will be repaired at the same time, so partial repairs aren't available.
    • If you don't respond within 10 days or you reject the updated order, your repair order is canceled. Your device is returned to you unrepaired, and you aren't charged.
    • You'll have 10 days to accept the updated repair order and the final cost.

Repair & return

After inspection and any final approval we might need from you, we start the repair.

Cosmetic damage, like scratches, won't be repaired. If our inspection shows only cosmetic damage, your device will be returned to you unrepaired.

After the repairs are done, you'll receive an email that the repair is complete and your device is shipped back to you with a tracking link. If you've dropped off your phone at a repair center, you'll be notified that your phone is ready for pickup.
